Amor was drawn the way old letters were written — slowly, and by hand. A rectangle of yellow gold, 29.5 by 22 millimetres, small enough to disappear inside a cashmere cuff and confident enough to reappear at dinner. The dial wears Roman numerals in an unbroken circuit; the crown carries a single red cabochon, the way a lover leaves a signature. It keeps quiet, quartz time — because the point of this watch is not the hour it shows, but the person you glance at across the table when it does. Rectangular. Rounded. Right.
29.5 by 22 millimetres of yellow-gold-plated steel, with softly rounded lugs that hug the wrist instead of resting on it. Small watches are hard to get right — the proportions have to feel intentional, not shrunken. Amor was drawn full-size, then quietly reduced.
Roman numerals. The old alphabet of time.
A porcelain-white field, twelve serif Roman numerals in gold, and a minute track ringed like a wedding band. Dauphine hands read cleanly from across a table. No date window, no seconds — nothing to interrupt the geometry.
One red stone. One quiet signature.
A single cabochon-cut ruby set into the fluted crown — the only splash of colour on the entire watch. It is the point of punctuation at the end of the sentence Amor is trying to write.
Grained tan leather, sewn by hand.
A saddle-brown grained calfskin, ecru contrast stitching, tapered to sit low. It softens on the second wear, moulds by the second month, and starts to remember you by the second year.
The Italian habit of doing romance properly.
Amor is finished in the same Vicenza atelier that hand-lays the Verde, Nero, Rosso and Blu Oceano dials — a workshop where four generations of casemakers have treated small objects as if they carried large feelings. The rectangular case is milled from a solid block, plated in five-microns of yellow gold, then polished by hand until the light no longer catches an edge. Italian engineering has always understood that a gift-worthy object is not measured by size, but by the number of hours somebody spent making it small.
