Oceano Ultrathin — front view
On the wrist — Portofino
01The story

An afternoon in Portofino.

There is a particular blue you only meet on the Ligurian coast — the colour of deep water under high sun, where the Mediterranean shifts from cobalt at the harbour to electric sapphire past the breakwater. The Oceano Ultrathin distils that blue onto a vertical-brushed dial framed by polished 316L steel. In shade it reads as a quiet navy; tilt it toward a window and the water moves. Designed for the man who wears his weekends as confidently as his Mondays. Part of the Classic Collection — the beating heart of Nine 11. Quietly evolving, never limited, made to live on the wrist rather than in a box.

02The Colour

Ocean blue. Three coats. By hand.

Translucent lacquer over a vertical-brushed base — laid, sanded, laid again. The brushed grain shows through in raking light; the blue keeps its depth in shadow. Not paint. Patience.

03The Dial

Navy in shade. Sapphire in sun.

Silver applied indices and dauphine hands cut through cleanly against the ocean field. Calm under office light; alive on a balcony at golden hour.

04On The Wrist

110 grams. Worn from boardroom to boat deck.

Integrated silver bracelet, hidden butterfly clasp, no exposed buckle. Sits flush under a French cuff, just as comfortable above a linen sleeve.

05The Movement

Citizen Miyota 1L22. Honest quartz.

Japanese-engineered quartz, ±20 sec/month, sealed behind sapphire with anti-reflective coating. The movement you forget — exactly the point of a 6 mm watch.

The reference dial. A sunburst blue that pulls light from the centre outward, applied indices in polished steel, and hands drawn thin enough to disappear when the wearer isn't looking.Atelier / Draft

Made in Italy

Six centuries of finishing. One pour of sea.

Italian engineering, Italian patience. Oceano is hand-finished in the same northern atelier that produces our Verde, Nero and Rosso — a workshop in the province of Vicenza where four generations of casemakers have worked steel into watches. A vertical-brushed base sets the grain on the dial; a translucent ocean-blue lacquer is laid by hand, sanded back, and laid again until the colour holds true depth from every angle. There is no shortcut to that finish — only the slow Italian habit of doing it properly.

Why this watch.

  • 6 mm slim — disappears under a cuff

An ultrathin case engineered to live under shirts and jackets without snagging or bulk. Present, never insistent.

  • Ocean blue vertical-brush dial

Three coats of translucent ocean-blue lacquer over a brushed base. Reads navy in shade; turns to sapphire under sun.

  • 316L surgical steel — brushed & polished

Hypoallergenic, corrosion-resistant case and integrated bracelet. Two finishes alternated by hand at our Italian atelier.

  • Sapphire crystal, AR-coated

Mohs-9 hardness. Scratch-resistant. AR coating keeps the deep blue readable instead of mirror-bright in sunlight.

  • Citizen Miyota 1L22 quartz

Japanese-engineered, ±20 sec/month accuracy, 3-year battery life. Reliability that turns a watch into furniture for the wrist.

  • Hidden butterfly clasp

Bracelet closes flush — no exposed buckle, no break in the silhouette. Built to sit invisibly under a shirt sleeve.

Early collector notes

Founder-selected feedback.

A short selection of notes from early owners, shared with permission.

  • "The blue is unreal in person — flat navy indoors, then electric the second sun hits it. Wears so thin I forget it's on."

Faisal R. · Abu DhabiFits 17 cm wrist
  • "Bought it for my husband. He hasn't taken it off. Goes with everything — suit, polo, weekend."

Layla S. · Abu DhabiFits 15 cm wrist
  • "The Italian finishing is obvious in the hand — the brush lines on the case are dead straight. Insane value for the price."

From the Atelier
I wanted the blue of the sea seen from a deck at noon — calm enough for a meeting, loud enough for a memory.
